Athletic Scholarships in the USA – Our Story and Expertise
Several years ago, my daughter, who was a competitive athlete, decided that she wanted to continue her education and athletic career in the United States. We quickly discovered that studying abroad, while offering incredible opportunities, can be significantly more expensive than studying in Israel and that financial assistance through an athletic scholarship would be essential.
During the process of helping her obtain an athletic scholarship in the USA, we faced many challenges. Finding reliable information and understanding the complex eligibility rules was extremely difficult. We could learn from other athletes who had gone through the process, but we soon realized that personal experiences were often not enough for two main reasons:
1. Every college has different admission requirements, academic standards, and athletic programs. A personal experience at one institution does not necessarily apply to another.
2. The eligibility rules for international student-athletes competing in American college sports are complex and frequently updated. Even coaches and college administrators are not always familiar with every regulation that affects international athletes.
Because of this, we dedicated ourselves to studying the regulations, understanding the requirements, and learning how the process truly works. Fortunately, we succeeded, and looking back, we understood that careful preparation and attention to detail were the keys to success.
We became aware of many athletes who were unable to obtain eligibility to compete and receive athletic scholarships because of misunderstandings regarding rules, requirements, and critical deadlines.
Following our success, we began receiving questions from college representatives and coaches who wanted to understand the process we had followed and how we guided an international athlete successfully through the system.
We realized that our knowledge, research, databases, relationships, and expertise in understanding US athletic governing body regulations could help other young athletes achieve their dream of studying in America while avoiding mistakes that could prevent them from receiving an athletic scholarship.
